John Cullum

Professor John Cullum is Professor of Genetics at the University of Kaiserslautern, Kaiserslautern, Germany. Prof. Cullum has over 30 years of research experience in Bacterial Genetics and Bioinformatics and has co-authored almost 100 articles. His experimental research interests include: genome structure and stability in Streptomyces, manipulation of large DNA fragments in Streptomyces, lipases in Streptomyces and the development of photodynamic therapy for bacterial infections. His bioinformatics research interests include the structure and evolution of modular secondary metabolite clusters and biochemical pathway prediction and evolution. He is a guest lecturer in Bioinformatics at the University of Nancy, France and the University of Zagreb, Croatia. Prof. Cullum is a member of the Society of General Microbiology (UK), American Society for Microbiology and the German Society for Microbiology (VAAM).
