Antonio Starcevic

Dr. Antonio Starcevic is CEO of SemGen and Assistant Professor at the Section for bioinformatics, Faculty of Food Technology and Biotechnology, University of Zagreb. Dr. Starcevic works at the Section for bioinformatics from 2005. He obtained his Ph.D. at the "Universität Kaiserslautern", Kaiserslautern, Germany in May, 2009. His expertise is in bioinformatics, genome/metagenome data mining and particularly in bioinformatic project management (CompTIA Project + certified) and bioinformatic software development. He considerably contributed, from the conceptual side, to the development of the generic program packages ClustScan and CompGen, as well as CSDB and r-CSDB databases. His current research interests are aplications of natural language processing algortithms such as Latent Semantic Indexing in biological data mining.
